You are not able to reassign the location of your Town Portal ability it always brings you to that zone's main city. For example, when you're in Fractured Peaks, it will bring you to Kyovashad. This will bring you to the waypoint in the main city of whatever zone you are in - as long as you've discovered that city and opened its waypoint (until then, you just go back to wherever your last Town Portal was set). Using the T key will cast a Town Portal, no matter where you are. That portal will remain until you leave that town (see below). This will take you directly to that Waypoint, leaving a portal you can use to return to your point of departure. Simply bring up your Map, locate the waypoint you want, and select it. As long as the Waypoint is activated on your map, you can get to it from anywhere. You do not need to use one Waypoint to get to another Waypoint. After that, you'll need to run back to Nevesk to activate that town's Waypoint. For example, you start your play near the town of Nevesk, but you cannot open the Waypoint until after you've reached Kyovashad and clicked Kyovashad's Waypoint. A town with an available but inactive Waypoint will show the same icon in gray. Just being near the waypoint isn't enough you need to interact with it. Waypoints have to be activated - which means clicking on them. Activated Waypoints show up as bright blue icons on your map. This allows you to travel around the zone much more quickly and easily. Every zone will have several such areas, and it's a good idea to activate these whenever possible. Waypoints are connections between major settlements. This guide will review these systems to help you navigate the world of Sanctuary more quickly and easily. These include the use of the Town Portal ability, opened Waypoints on your map, and understanding how the Emote system can help you leave a dungeon without having to resort to other means. Other than on foot or horseback, there are a few ways to get around Sanctuary quickly and easily.
